VBY engages with the Yukon government in dialogue so as to specifically:







Non-profits seeking charitable gaming licenses face unnecessary barriers and restrictions due to outdated legislation and regulations that don’t reflect the current environment. Charitable gaming in the Yukon is regulated through the Lottery Licensing Act, last updated in 2018, Regulations which were last edited in 1987, and a Policies and Procedures Manual updated various times over the years. . VBY works with the United Way of Yukon to support community services to facilitate non-profit fundraising (bingo, 30/50, etc.).







Provide opportunities for politicians and Government staff to discuss government initiatives with the non-profit sector to determine impacts, possible collaborations, and information sharing potential and thus opportunities for transparency concerning Government measures that impact the non-profit sector (practical implementation: Government & Crown Corporation spokespersons participate as guests in the VBY-led weekly non-profit org meetings)





VBY engages Yukon Government on a regular basis to:



- promote the non-profit sector



- promote the volunteer sector
